This project has been completed.  

The 2022-2023 Combined Capital Improvement Projects included several different projects.  These projects include waterline, street, sewer and drainage projects. Below is a description of each project:

• Lone Oak Trail Improvements
  
  • Construct a turnaround at the end of the street for emergency vehicle access.
  • Construct a waterline looping Lone Oak Trail with Curley Mesquite Cove.
  • Increase waterline size at the intersection of Jones Road and Lone Oak Trail to improve flow.
  • Mill and overlay the entire street

• Sunset Trail Improvements

  • Replace existing waterlines with an 8 inch line.
  • Install additional fire hydrants.
  • Mill and overlay entire street.

•  Jones Road and Sunset Trail Drainage
  • Construct drainage inlets along Jones Road.
  • Construct a narrow concrete channel along a portion of the drainage ditch along Sunset Trail to maintain positive drainage.  

• Highway 290 Sewer Line
  • Replace the sewer line along the north side of Highway 290

•  AISD Meter Conversion
  • Convert the properties belonging to Austin Independent School District to customers of Sunset Valley for water service.
• Oakdale Backflow 
  • Replace 6 inch backflow with a 8 inch backflow. 

Project Status

The City Council awarded a bid to Smith Contracting to complete this project.  This project started on April 17th, 2023.
