The City of Sunset Valley’s Solar Energy Conservation Rebate helps residents to install solar photovoltaic systems on their homes to reduce energy costs.   This rebate must be combined with the Austin Energy Rebate for solar installation.  Residents should apply for the Austin Energy rebate and receive a letter of intent prior to applying for the rebate offered by Sunset Valley.  Austin Energy representative may conduct on-site surveys to determine if your home is a good candidate for solar panel installation.  The solar PV systems will be interconnected to Austin Energy’s electrical grid.

ENERGY SAVINGS

• Solar energy systems create clean energy with no emission
• Using Solar energy to generate 1 kilowatt of power is equivalent to planting 50 trees.
• Reduces dependence on conventional fossil fuel based energy.

REBATE AMOUNT

• $1.00 per watt up to $3,000.

ELIGIBILITY

• Applicant:
  • Must be a residential customer of Sunset Valley and the installation must be within the City of Sunset Valley.

• Solar PV system
  • The system must qualify for an Austin Energy Rebate.
  • The system installation cost must be $6/kW or less.

• Receive letter of intent from Austin Energy
• Submit Sunset Valley permit application for solar PV installation
• Submit Rebate Application to and all required documents to:

• Rebate check should arrive within 3-4 weeks
